false fans scattered as they'd gathered: ant-like, lifting one another.
All right, I'll cop to it, I check under the seats of the departed as readily
as scavenging a half-empty. Score remorselessly any foam hands,
the sportsman's memento mortis.
And when I'm ancient and jealous and waving it around,
it's not even a conversation piece anymore. It's deadly force.
Lay hands on my helmet. You'll feel the heating element.
It's criminal to keep me and my goals separate when they're so
